Here at Gaviotas Sportfishing, we want your fishing to be as wrinkle-free as possible. We have compiled a list of the most commonly asked questions and answers for you to have a clear understanding of any topic related to your fishing charter, be it booking, cancellation, or matters when aboard the boat.

We covered most of the aspects of fishing charter, however, should you have other questions or concerns, please contact us via email or phone and we'll respond within 2 hours. Our dedicated team is available to you seven days a week.

How much is the required deposit to book a charter?

The client needs to deposit 50% of the package fee in order to secure the trip.

What is your cancellation policy?

The client may receive a full refund if cancellations are done more than seven (7) days in advance of the trip. However, the client’s deposit will be forfeited if cancellations are made seven (7) days or less leading up to the trip.

What time are we supposed to meet our charter at the marina?

The client is expected to arrive at the location at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Where is the designated meeting place before the trip?

Please meet us at Marina Fundadores, Pier 20 - 34, Gate 2 & 3 (across Breathless Hotel) Colonia El Medano, 23450 Cabo San Lucas, B.C.S

Does the crew understand English?

Yes. The crew can communicate with clients in both English and Spanish.

Am I required to have a Mexico fishing license for the trip?

Yes. Our clients are required to have a Mexico fishing license for the trip. You have the option to arrange it on your own or we can do it for you if you avail of our all-inclusive package.

Is the tip already inclusive of the total trip price?

No. Although tipping is not required, we recommend that you tip the captain and the crew 15-20% of the total trip cost based on your level of satisfaction.

Is it guaranteed that we will catch fish during our trip?

We cannot guarantee fishing success, but our captain and crew will use their knowledge and experience to help you catch fish.

Can we get our money back if we fail to catch any fish on our trip?

No. We cannot refund your money in this kind of situation. Please bear in mind that fishing success depends on several factors including weather and water conditions which are beyond our control.

Can I take my catch home with me?

Yes. We can also clean and fillet the fish for you.

What is the procedure in case of bad weather during the day of our trip?

Don’t worry, we will give you a full refund or we can reschedule the trip depending on availability if we are unable to take you out to sea because of bad weather.

What do you suggest for motion/sea sickness?

If you have a history of motion/sea sickness or think that you might experience it, we highly recommend that you take Dramamine and Bonine 30 minutes to an hour before your trip departure time.

Are kids allowed on the trip?

Yes. We welcome all age groups.  Fishing is an activity that may be enjoyed by everyone regardless of experience level or age.
